Dr. Anthony Fauci has finally decided to retire at the ripe age of 81. The chief medical officer to the president of the United States said he will retire by the end of President Biden's term after a career in the government spanning five decades.
He has been director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984, Reuters reported. In 2020 he became the face of the pandemic.

Fauci got himself into controversy immediately by telling the public masks don't do anything, then spending the rest of the pandemic telling everyone they must wear masks.

That's not to say there wasn't plenty of comic relief during Fauci's reign. There was an unforgettable moment when Trump mentioned the "deep state" when Dr. Fauci was standing next to him.
Say what you will about Dr. Fauci, but at 81 years old it's definitely time to get some new blood into the position.
