This has turned into an annual story. The Emmy Awards ratings fall even further as they set a new record for low ratings.
Anyone who wants to tune in and be lectured on the gender pay gap and transgender rights can tune in. Hollywood refuses to believe that this is not what people want when they tune into the Emmys.
According to Deadline, the 5.7 rating and 10 share represents the “lowest rating the annual ceremony has achieved in early metrics.”
This was the first time in 15 years that the Emmys went hostless. Fox made this decision when Kevin Hart withdrew after he was ripped of old gay jokes and tweets of his resurfacing.
Michelle Williams addressed the gender pay gap.
“So the next time a woman, and especially a woman of color, because she stands to make 52 cents on the dollar compared to her white, male counterpart, tells you what she needs in order to do her job, listen to her, believe her, because one day she might stand in front of you and say thank you for allowing her to succeed because of her workplace environment, and not in spite of it,” Williams said.
