Far-Left Democrat Leaves Door Open for 2024 Presidential Run

Far-left Vermont Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders said he has not decided whether or not he will make another presidential run in 2024.

“That’s a big — you know, I haven’t made that decision,” Sanders said during an appearance on “CBS Mornings.”

Sanders ran for the Democratic nominee in 2016 for his first attempt before eventually bowing out to Hillary Clinton. Then he gave it another shot in 2020 but suspended his campaign before the primaries, bowing out to Joe Biden.

Despite saying his mind is not made up on 2024, Sanders said he is currently making an effort to travel around the country to get “often young progressives” elected.

When asked for his thoughts on Biden running for re-election in 2024 Sanders said “that’s his decision.”

“Look, this is what I think. You can’t categorize everybody. You’re different than everybody, you know. We’re all different. We’ve got to look at the individual. But what I think we do, guys, is we look too much at race, at gender, at age. What does somebody stand for? What are their views? Do you agree with them?” Sanders said during his appearance on CBS.

“And obviously you want people who are competent, capable, have the energy — I mean, my god, to be president of the United States requires an enormous amount of energy — but I would say, first of all, take a look at what people stand for. And we don’t do that enough. We’re too much into personality.”

There have certainly been conflicting opinions on whether or not Biden will run in 2024. Reports have surfaced that California Governor Gavin Newsom is looking at making a run. Over the weekend Newsom shot down those rumors at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.

"Not happening, no, no, not at all," Newsom said. "I've said it in French, Italian. I don't know German. I mean, I cannot say it enough. But thank you. It's humbling. It is sweet. It's a nice thing to be asked. I mean it, and I never trust politicians, so I get why you keep asking."

As Newsom said himself, never trust politicians.
