Social media went nuclear when former NFL star Doug Flutie appeared on stage with Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker. Flutie appeared with Walker just before the Republican's concession speech to Rev. Raphael Warnock in the Georgia runoff Tuesday night.
"I’m so proud of him, we’re all so proud of him for all he’s gone through and what he’s done," Flutie said. "He gave it everything he had from day one, and he did it all for the right reasons. He cares about this state, and he cares about this country."
Flutie and Walker were once teammates on a team owned by Donald Trump. Talk about coming full circle. They played together on the New Jersey Generals, a USFL team.
Social media users were triggered seeing Flutie teaming up with Walker. They even brought up their canceled subscription to Flutie Flakes.
Thank god I stopped my Flutie Flakes subscription long ago 😬 https://t.co/Iv8z4XvMnG

Flutie completed an iconic Hail Mary to take the Boston College Eagles past the Miami Hurricanes while in college. One Twitter user said the pass was actually incomplete after seeing him with Walker.
His Hail Mary NOW should’ve never counted lol. https://t.co/TRvoZ8i0Fr

Okay, that was kind of funny.
This is like when he threw that incredible Hail Mary pass except this time the "football" is his legacy and the "end zone" is a molten lava pit https://t.co/Oycbev6Wo4

"But one of the things I want to tell you is you never stop dreaming," Walker said in his concession speech. "I don't want any of you to stop dreaming. I don't want any of you to stop believing in America. I want you to believe in America and continue to believe in the Constitution and believe in our elected officials. Most of all, continue to pray for them."
