Former New York congressman Pete King is warning lawmakers against providing amnesty and reparations to illegal immigrants, claiming that it will only encourage more illegal immigration.
''I think it's the wrong idea at this time,'' King said during an interview on Newsmax TV.
''Listen, at the end of all this when the immigration issue is resolved, they want to put this on the table, it's one thing. Right now, it sends a very, very wrong message, the wrong signal. It's gonna encourage more illegal immigration.
''And this is pretty much what happened during the campaign – President Biden said if he's elected that they're welcome to come to the United States and then since then, on. January 20th when he basically dismantled the Trump plans, we saw this crisis, a real crisis, the largest illegal immigration flow in the last 20-25 years. Maybe the most ever. I don't know. So, I think ... it's bad timing. And it's sends the wrong signal," he continued.
King said, ''I think there should be strict border enforcement, which Republicans will support, and hopefully Democrats would also, but there also has to be a sense of humanity here. I have no problem saying if there’s an agreement and there is border security that we do find a pathway at least to naturalization — if not citizenship — for the 11 million that are here, those that stay out of trouble. And I agree, probably 95 percent of them are good people and they’ve made sacrifices to come here. But we can’t do that upfront."
"We have to have an agreement in place and then that would be part two of the agreement. And that’s the part where Republicans are reluctant to come along, just like Democrats are reluctant to come along with strict border security. This has become such a partisan issue that neither side wants to give. I think so long as it’s done in a way that it’s not just a promise that it’s going to happen later on, that it’s actually in black and white … try to take the emotion out of it," he added.

On Wednesday, Democrat Representative Pramila Jayapal told CNN's Alisyn Camerota that she was pleased with the FBI's raid of former New York Mayor and Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
“Well, going back to the first impeachment trial, Alisyn … we that knew Rudy Giuliani was a very important figure in everything that was happening,” she said about the FBI raiding his Manhattan apartment. “And so I’m not surprised by this. I think it’s an important development and we have to keep people accountable. I’m glad the FBI is doing what they’re doing.”

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel warned the GOP on Tuesday that they should not get comfortable when it comes to taking back the House in 2022.
