The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight at AT&T Stadium on Friday night was hyped to be a thrilling event. It didn’t quite deliver.
While it wasn’t exactly free to watch, anyone with a Netflix subscription could tune in. That’s a bargain compared to traditional boxing pay-per-view prices. Still, viewers complained about buffering issues during the stream.

What remains unclear is how much Tyson and Paul made.
Neither side, nor Netflix, has disclosed their payouts. But with some hints, expert analysis, and past fight comparisons, we can estimate.
Reports suggest Paul earned $40 million just for stepping into the ring. Tyson’s take was reportedly $20 million. Paul even referenced his $40 million at a press conference, adding he’d bet it all at the pre-fight event.
"I'm here to make $40 million and knock out a legend," Paul declared in August.
Industry experts estimated Tyson’s earnings at $20 million. However, Tyson sidestepped confirming that amount in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year.
Big payouts in boxing aren’t new. In 2017, Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather, earning $30 million while Mayweather walked away with $100 million.
That fight featured active pros in their prime. Tyson vs. Paul? A different story entirely, but still wildly profitable for everyone involved.
