Imagine being so miserable in life that you bully the wait staff at a restaurant to the point of tears! That is exactly what happened at Brewster’s restaurant Apt Cape Cod, resulting in the establishment closing for a day of kindness.
On Thursday, the restaurant wrote on Facebook, “As many of our guests and patrons treat us with kindness and understanding, there have been an astronomical influx daily of those that do not, swearing at us, threatening to sue, arguing and yelling at my staff, making team members cry. This is an unacceptable way to treat any human.”

Brandi Felt Castellano, the owner of Apt Cape Cod, told Boston25 News that customers were upset about wait times and service.
“Patrons have crossed the line from being just like rude or upset to verbally abusive,” Castellano told Boston 25. “They told one of our workers that ‘I hope you get hit by a car when you leave work today’.”
Castellano told Boston 25 that people from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Las Vegas are experiencing the same issues.
Apt Cape Cod took the day to deep clean the restaurant, train and treat the staff to a day of kindness.
“Please remember that many of my staff are young, this is their first job, or summer job to help pay for college. We have had to make adjustments due to the increase in business volume, size of kitchen, product availability and staffing availability, we are not trying to ruin anyone’s vacation or day off,” the owner added.
According to Boston 25, Castellano said that customers have been nicer to the staff since reopening.
