Joy Behar Blames 'Heterosexual Men' and 'Conservatives' for the Tragic Injury over the Weekend

During a discussion about a serious injury sustained by Buffalo Bills safety player Damar Hamlin, Joy Behar expressed outrage at "heterosexual men" and "conservatives" for supporting tackle football.

While discussing Hamlin's injury and hospitalization on "The View," Behar criticized conservatives and heterosexual men for allowing children to participate in tackle football.

"45% of Americans think that tackle football is appropriate. Heterosexual men voted the most support for kids doing football," said Behar.

"And conservatives were more likely to support youth tackle football. Just saying," she continued.

Co-host Sunny Hostin shared that her son had sustained an injury while playing youth football, which led him to reconsider the risks and ultimately quit the sport.

Behar suggested they switch to tennis or golf instead of football.

Hamlin's injury occurred during a Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals, which was being watched by millions of viewers. He got up after a tackle, but then fell to the ground a few seconds later.

Hamlin received CPR on the field and was taken to the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati in critical condition. Officials later stated that he had suffered a cardiac arrest on the field and was placed on oxygen in the ambulance while being transported to the hospital.

A GoFundMe account was created to support a charity founded by Hamlin, which provides toys for underprivileged children in his hometown of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. The account, which originally aimed to raise $2,500, has received over $6.8 million in donations from thousands of football players, coaches, and fans.
