Kelly Osbourne revealed that she chose to keep her pregnancy under wraps for its entire duration to avoid being "fat-shamed" prior to welcoming her firstborn son earlier this year.
The singer and actress, now 38, shared two pictures on Instagram, and fans noticed a change in her look, prompting a question from one user about the absence of pregnancy photos. The individual inquired whether this was due to employing a surrogate to bear her son, Sydney, with her partner Sid Wilson, according to a report from the "Today" show.
Osbourne responded on social media, "There are no pictures of me pregnant because I hid for 9 months because I did not want to get fat shamed."
In response to fans speculating that she might have undergone cosmetic procedures on her face and neck, she rebutted their claims, saying, "It’s just from weight loss," adding, "Honestly I’ve only had Botox."
Ozzy Osbourne's daughter has previously spoken about the emotional impact of body shaming. In 2021, she criticized a tabloid seeking her comment on her fluctuating weight, the source mentioned.
The emotional struggle of the previous year was something she discussed in an Instagram Story, writing, "This past year has been the hardest year of my life," and stating, "I was completely and utterly broken." She added, "I am still putting myself back together again. I am happy. I am healthy and that’s all that should matter."
A year after, the celebrated fashion designer unveiled the thrilling news that she was expecting her first child. "I know that I have been quiet these past few months so I thought I would share with you all as to why …" she explained on a post that also included a sonogram. She went on to say, "I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma. To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!"
However, in January, her mother Sharon revealed Kelly had given birth and shared her grandson’s name, a decision that didn't sit well with Kelly.
In a later Instagram post, Kelly stated, "I am not ready to share him with the world. It is no one’s place but mine to share any information on my baby."
