Customers of the renowned grocery store, Wegmans Food Markets, are advised to review their credit card records. This comes after the company's representatives confirmed a probable double-charging incident for both in-store and online shoppers.
Company representatives revealed that credit card payments made on Aug. 16 at all of Wegmans' 110+ locations nationwide were impacted.
The representatives clarified that transactions using EBT and debit cards with a PIN remained unaffected by this oversight, except if processed as credit upon the shopper's choice.
Many customers expressed their dissatisfaction with Wegmans on various social platforms.
Jessica Figueroa mentioned in a Facebook post, "So if you shopped at Wegmans yesterday double-check your account. According to them there was a system-wide error that caused a double charge for many. I just noticed a duplicate charge on mine."
