Major Grocery Chain Set to Hire 13,000 Workers With Starting Pay Up to $23 Per Hour

Discount grocery chain Aldi is hiring 13,000 workers for the holiday season. They’re also raising the average hourly wage to $23.

The new jobs will be in stores and warehouses. Starting wages will range between $18 and $23 an hour, depending on location and the role. Aldi has over 49,000 employees and operates 2,000 stores in 36 states.

"Whether it’s our in-store team filling shelves, warehouse staff managing logistics, or drivers delivering ALDI Finds, our employees fuel the quicker, easier, and more affordable shopping experience our shoppers love," said Atty McGrath, president of ALDI. "Attracting and retaining talent has been key to our success, and we look forward to helping new team members grow."

Employees working more than 30 hours a week will receive health insurance, paid time off, flexible schedules, and 100% paid parental and caregiver leave.

Aldi also promotes from within, with 70% of assistant store managers and 43% of store managers having started as associates.
