McDonald's fans are eagerly awaiting the rumored return of the Snack Wrap. But while we wait, the fast-food giant is quietly bringing back another favorite: the Chicken Big Mac.
This sandwich won hearts in the UK and Australia. It disappeared due to supply issues, but now it's making a comeback. According to food blogger Snackolator, the Chicken Big Mac will hit US stores in 2024 after a trial run in Miami in 2022.
"McDonald's is finally bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the US this year," Snackolator shared on Instagram. He also noted that the sandwich is exactly what you'd expect: a Big Mac with two tempura chicken patties instead of beef.
Earlier this year, McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski hinted at its return. He didn't reveal the exact launch date but got fans excited.
"The chicken [is] gonna start to give [the traditional Big Mac] a run for its money," Kempczinski said in an Instagram video. He described the sandwich as having the same build as the classic Big Mac, with three buns, lettuce, cheese, and the iconic Big Mac sauce, but now with crispy chicken patties.
Kempczinski praised the Chicken Big Mac's "really good" flavor and the crunchiness of the chicken. "The Big Mac sauce works great with it," he added. He even suggested buying both versions, saying, "You get a little bit more crunch with [the Chicken Big Mac] but you can't beat the beef you get with our original."
Fans are clearly thrilled. "Chicken Big Mac! Let’s go," one user commented. "Omg need rn," another added.
Now, it's just a matter of time before it hits the menus.
