McDonald's Swaps Protein in 'Highly Anticipated' Sandwich Arriving Next Week

McDonald's is stepping up its chicken game, aiming to compete with Chick-fil-A and Burger King. They’re hoping customers will take a bite of their new chicken creation.

On Thursday, McDonald’s announced the launch of its highly anticipated Chicken Big Mac, coming to U.S. restaurants on October 10.

This "reimagined" version of a classic was quietly introduced at a McDonald’s pop-up event by Chain, the company shared in a press release.

“We’re offering more than just a sandwich," said Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. "With this campaign, we’re giving fans new experiences that will surprise and delight them."

The original Big Mac has been around since 1968, but this version swaps beef for two chicken patties. It still has the same Big Mac sauce, lettuce, cheese, and pickles on a sesame seed bun. The Chicken Big Mac is 530 calories, per McDonald's nutritional info.

Kai Cenat, an "internet star" and Big Mac superfan, will host a livestream showing people's real-time reactions to the Chicken Big Mac. You can find more details on McDonald’s social media.

This new Chicken Big Mac will be available for a limited time at participating locations, but only while supplies last.
