Morgan Wallen didn’t stick around after “Saturday Night Live.” He walked straight off stage after his performance, heading out without hesitation.
It was his first time back on the show in five years. He performed two songs from his upcoming album, I'm the Problem.
Right after leaving the stage, he had one thing on his mind. “Get me to God’s country,” Wallen posted on Instagram Stories.

Fans didn’t think much of the abrupt exit, but it sparked buzz. Some thought something had gone wrong behind the scenes.
According to sources, everything was fine. “That was the way he entered and exited the studio all week during rehearsal and camera blocking,” an insider said. “So he just walked that way after hugging Mikey.”
His return to SNL came after a rocky first attempt. Back in 2020, he was cut from the show for breaking COVID protocols.
“I’m in New York City in a hotel room, I was getting ready for ‘SNL’ this Saturday, and I got a call from the show letting me know that I will no longer be able to play,” he said at the time. “That’s because of COVID protocols, which I understand.”
Wallen was seen maskless at a football game and partying at a bar. The video went viral, and SNL quickly dropped him from the lineup.
“I think I’ve lost myself a little bit,” he admitted. “I’ve tried to find joy in the wrong places, and it’s left me with less joy. So I’mma go try to work on that.”
Two months later, he got another shot. He returned to SNL, sang, and even poked fun at the whole situation in a sketch.
He thanked the crowd for their support. “Thanks for giving this poor Southern boy a second Yankee chance.”
Now he’s up for several 2025 ACM Awards, including entertainer of the year and single of the year for “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone.
