‘No, No, No, No, No’: The Rock Explains His Friends' Stance on Biden

Celebrity Dwayne Johnson stated on Wednesday during a podcast appearance that his "friends" were aligned with the Democratic party but did not specifically support President Joe Biden.

Johnson was a guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience," where he discussed various topics, including the Maui wildfire and his WWE career. During the nearly three-hour episode, the conversation turned to the current political climate in the United States.

Host Joe Rogan initiated a conversation about the significant changes in today's political atmosphere compared to his childhood. He emphasized how Republicans are now often labeled based on their affiliation with the party alone.

“When I was a kid, you could have a Republican friend. It was no big deal. It’s no big deal. Like, ‘oh, Bobby likes George Bush.’ Who cares? Who gives a f*ck? You know, you were a supporter of Bill Clinton, he liked George Bush. Nobody cared. Nobody like, ‘f*ck you.’ It wasn’t like, ‘you’re a Nazi.’ Like what do you mean I’m a Nazi? I just want lower taxes,” Rogan stated.

Political polarization in the United States has been increasingly evident over the years. In 2022, about 30% of Americans identified "political extremism or polarization" as a major national issue, as reported by FiveThirtyEight.

“Dude, it’s the craziest thing. I have friends who support Trump. I have friends who support Biden,” Johnson responded.

However, Rogan interjected, teasingly questioning Johnson about whether he truly had friends who supported Biden.

“Oh no, no, no, no, here’s – here’s what I do. I have friends – thank you. That’s a good check. Because that’s important. This is important context,” Johnson clarified. “I have friends who are loyal to the [Democrat] party.”

According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, approval for President Biden has reached its lowest point since April. The data from the poll conducted on November 7 indicates that 56 percent of Americans now disapprove of the president.
