I am not saying that the COVID-19 isn't a real virus, but I do believe the media and government have overhyped and overstepped during this entire situation.
On Wednesday, the INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, confirmed that they are temporarily closing most of their facility due to a mass decline in patients.
Cancelling and postposing of surgeries that are deemed non-emergent “has led to a declining census at both facilities," the hospital said in a statement. In order to consolidate resources and keep up with cost, the hospital is temporarily closing, except for the emergency room and “some Radiology and infusion services."
The hospital's statement reads:
INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center Portland Ave. is an extension of the INTEGRIS Baptist campus with the same leadership team. The postponement of non-emergent surgeries and procedures has led to a declining census at both facilities. In an effort to better consolidate our resources we are temporarily closing the Portland Ave. building with the exception of the emergency room, it will remain open, and limited outpatient services. We fully anticipate that if and when we see a surge of COVID-19 patients in Oklahoma City, we will be reopening this campus.
All elective surgeries and minor medical procedures were postponed due to an executive order given by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.
