Poll Shows Trump Approval Rating Matching All-Time High

President Donald Trump's approval rating has matched his all-time high. According to a recent NBC News poll, 47% of registered voters approve of Trump's job performance.

The poll also shows 44% of voters think the country is headed in the right direction. Both figures mark the highest levels during Trump's presidency.

Still, more voters disapprove than approve. The poll found 51% disapprove of Trump's performance, and 54% believe the country is on the wrong track.

Most of Trump's approval comes from Republicans. The survey noted a significant partisan divide.

"While 90% of Republicans approve of Trump’s performance, only 4% of Democrats approve," the report highlighted. This gap is the largest seen in NBC News and Gallup polling over the past 80 years.

Economic views are also sharply divided. Only 18% of voters rate the economy as "excellent" or "good," marking a historic low for NBC News polls.

This sentiment differs greatly along party lines. "Twenty-six percent of Republicans responded that the state of the economy was 'excellent' or 'good,' while only 11% of Democrats responded the same way."

This is a notable shift since October 2024. Back then, only 5% of Republicans saw the economy positively, compared to 52% of Democrats.

Immigration and border security are Trump's strengths, with 55% approval. Just 43% disapprove, reflecting Trump's emphasis on immigration policies.

Trump recently highlighted his administration's efforts, stating, "launched the most sweeping border and immigration crackdown in American history."

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also emphasized another poll finding. She noted that Democratic Party approval ratings are at historic lows, with just 27% holding favorable views.

Leavitt argued that relying on "hatred" of Trump isn't a winning political strategy.

The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters from March 7 to March 11, with a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

The survey began the day after Trump addressed Congress, pledging economic relief. He blamed former President Joe Biden for a 20% rise in consumer prices.

"Among my very highest priorities is to rescue our economy and get dramatic and immediate relief to working families," Trump told lawmakers. "As president, I am fighting every day to reverse this damage and make America affordable again."
