Shaquille O'Neal, a renowned NBA star, criticized former ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann on social media on Sunday evening. Olbermann had referred to LSU women's basketball standout Angel Reese as a "f---ing idiot" for taunting Caitlin Clark from Iowa during the NCAA women's national championship game.
Olbermann posted a contentious tweet regarding Reese's actions, which included mimicking Caitlin Clark's "you can't see me" gesture. Clark had previously performed this gesture during Iowa's victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Final Four round.
In addition, Reese gestured towards her ring finger to signify LSU's upcoming championship win.
The contentious incident sparked controversy, with some condemning it as unsportsmanlike behavior, while others defended it as a natural part of the game, including trash-talking.
However, Shaquille O'Neal, the former Los Angeles Lakers legend, was outraged by Olbermann's choice of words and expressed his opinion candidly on Twitter.
"Shut your dumb a-- up, leave Angel Reese alone," Shaq tweeted.

Olbermann eventually backpedaled and labeled his previous remarks as "uninformed." He eventually decided that both Reese and Clark were "wrong."
Shaq also took aim at Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy who labeled Reese as a "Classless piece of s---."

In case you were wondering why on earth Shaq is so invested in this, he graduated from LSU and played college basketball there.
In Reese's post-game interview, she defended her actions by playing the race card.
"All year, I was critiqued about who I was. The narrative — I don’t fit the narrative. I don’t fit the box you all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. You told me that all year," Reese said.
"But when other people do it — you all don’t say nothing. So, this is for the girls that look like me. That’s going to speak up for what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you, and that’s what I did it for tonight. It was bigger than me tonight. It was bigger than me. Twitter is going to go in a rage every time. And, I mean, I’m happy. I feel like I helped grow women’s basketball this year. I’m super happy and excited. I’m looking forward to celebrating and then next season."
