At a Taylor Swift concert, a security guard unexpectedly grabbed attention when he was captured on video singing one of the artist's songs.
Calvin Denker, a guard stationed in Minneapolis, was visibly immersed in the moment as he joined in with "Cruel Summer" while Swift performed. However, his joy was short-lived, as he soon lost his position at the event.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Denker revealed he "handed out little pieces of paper" to a handful of attendees and asked some to photograph him when Swift was on stage nearby.

He said, "I would really appreciate it if they took a photo of me with Taylor Swift in the background just so that I can have a memory from that night."
But trouble brewed when he posted a TikTok video discussing his hopes of getting a snapshot with the "Bejeweled" artist, unaware of the potential consequences.
He stated, "I received a call a couple of days later . . . I spoke to an H.R. woman, and she cited that me handing out those pieces of paper was why they were going to be cutting ties with me as an employee." He added, "There were some pretty strict rules about taking photos with the talent."
Denker went on to say that he was under the impression the only guideline was to keep his phone away during the performance.
In the same viral TikTok, he confessed he had initially joined the security detail so he "didn’t have to pay for tickets" to the Eras Tour by Swift.
After his dismissal, in an unexpected turn, he was called for a security role at an Ed Sheeran concert. The agency mentioned that since he had shown "remorse" for his earlier action and "regretted doing it," they were willing to give him another shot.
Yet, after the concert, the regional manager who had previously terminated him "wasn’t too pleased" to find him on duty. This led to Denker's final separation from the security firm after returning his uniform.
Regarding any feedback from Taylor Swift's team, Denker clarified he had not received any communication.
He proclaimed, "I am a major Taylor Swift fan."
Being a dedicated fan, he said he would "just be remiss" if he didn’t capture his moment at the show. He highlighted "Reputation" as his favorite Swift album.
Denker's story spread rapidly, and he shared that his inbox was filled with security job offers from various venues in Minneapolis. However, he's currently committed to a full-time software engineering position, with no intention to re-enter the security field.
