When it comes to punishment for sexual offenders, a great case can be made that no punishment can be too harsh. Thailand lawmakers have approved a procedure that makes sure it will be the last time these sex offenders commit this type of crime.
Thailand sex offenders who are determined to be likely repeat offenders will face chemical castration. The chemical castration will result in lower testosterone levels. In exchange, the offenders will get a reduced prison sentence.

The approval of two doctors will be required before the procedure. The offenders will still be forced to wear electronic bracelets and be monitored for 10 years.
According to corrections department figures, of 16,413 convicted sex offenders released from Thai prisons between 2013 and 2020, there were 4,848 who re-offended.
Once this is implemented, Thailand will join a small group of countries, among them Poland, South Korea, Russia and Estonia, plus some U.S. states.
"I want this law to pass quickly,I Justice Minister Somsak Thepsuthin said on Tuesday. "I don't want to see news about bad things happening to women again," he said.
We can all agree that when it comes to punishment for sexual predators we should go to any length to make sure it doesn't happen again.
