Novak Djokovic is fresh off of a win at Wimbledon and his sights are set on the U.S. Open and his 22nd Grand Slam, which would tie him for the all-time lead with Rafael Nadal.
Unfortunately, it looks like the U.S. Open is not going to allow the all-time great tennis player to participate.
"I'm not vaccinated and I'm not planning to get vaccinated," Djokovic said following his victory at Wimbledon.

Djokovic has missed many tournaments due to his vaccination status. He was allowed to play in Wimbledon because the United Kingdom had no travel restrictions pertaining to coronavirus vaccination.
American tennis legend John McEnroe has weighed in with his thoughts on the issue.
"These politicians are getting in the way too much," John McEnroe recently said. "Let the guy come in and play in the U.S. I mean come on. This is ridiculous."

It's also worth noting that unvaccinated spectators are allowed to attend the event.
"At this time, ticket holders will not be required to show proof of COVID vaccination for admission into the US Open," it states on the U.S. Open website.
So any average American can stumble through the gates and be a spectators but one of the greatest athletes of all-time is not allowed to participate in the tournament. This is a very illogical approach.
