A small burger chain in Texas is serving up burgers, fries, and a big dose of Trump support. The restaurant is themed after the 45th and 47th president.
Inside, burgers are stamped with Trump's name. Memorabilia fills the space, celebrating the former president.
"We're huge Trump supporters," said owner Roland Beainy. Born and raised in Lebanon, he moved to the U.S. in 2019. "He's a gentleman that makes peace. Even before he took office, he made peace in the Middle East already between Lebanon and Israel."
Beainy opened Trump Burger in 2020 during Trump’s first term. The first location was in Bellville, just over an hour from Houston. A second followed in Flatonia, near San Antonio. Another is set to open in Houston in a few weeks.
A fourth location is planned for Kemah, a waterfront city with restaurants and theme park rides. The chain is not officially affiliated with Trump.
Beainy said he also supports Trump’s business mindset. He remembers when cooking oil cost him just $15 per gallon in 2020.
"Once Biden took over, we started to pay $50 to $52, and now it's down to $28," he said. "It's still too high."
Beef and chicken prices have also skyrocketed, he said. With 20 years in the food industry, he has seen major changes. He also owns restaurants in Dubai and Lebanon.
Trump Burger sticks to classic American favorites. The "Trump Burger" is an 8-ounce Angus beef patty with two slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and barbecue sauce. The "Trump Tower" doubles the beef to 16 ounces.
Each bun is branded with "Trump."
Other menu items include the Philly cheesesteak and "First Lady chicken sandwich." The menu also features a playful jab at the Biden-Harris administration. The "Harris Burger" is just 1 ounce of beef, served with "our oldest buns unavailable due to cheating and inflation."
That burger, a joke item, is priced at $50.99.
Reactions to the restaurant have been mostly positive, Beainy said. When there’s trouble, local police step in. Hate comments don’t bother him.
The Houston location came by popular demand. Many customers didn’t want to drive over an hour to Bellville.
Beainy remains a strong Trump supporter. He believes business costs will drop again under Trump’s leadership.
"You can tell the difference," he said. "It's like the world has changed in a few days."
