Trump Scolds Top Democrat Governor: 'Stop talking and get back to work'

Former President Donald Trump blasted Maryland Governor Wes Moore (D) on Sunday, mocking his invitation to “walk the streets” of Maryland and demanding Moore first tackle crime in Baltimore.

In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed Moore’s request came in a “nasty and provocative tone,” and suggested the governor was really referring to Baltimore, which he described as “out of control, crime ridden.”

“As President, I would much prefer that he clean up this Crime disaster before I go there for a ‘walk,’” Trump wrote. He accused Moore of having a “very bad” record on crime and suggested the governor could be “fudging” his numbers like other blue states.

Trump then drew a comparison to California Governor Gavin Newsom, whom he derisively called “Gavin Newscum.” He said if Moore needed help, he could send troops into Baltimore just as he claimed to have done in Los Angeles.

“But if Wes Moore needs help, like Gavin Newscum did in L.A., I will send in the ‘troops,’ which is being done in nearby DC, and quickly clean up the Crime,” Trump added. “After only one week, there is NO CRIME AND NO MURDER IN DC! When it is like that in Baltimore, I will proudly ‘walk the streets.’”

He went on to call Baltimore the “4th WORST CITY IN THE NATION IN CRIME & MURDER” and told Moore to “stop talking and get to work.” Trump also pointed to federal funds given to Maryland after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, warning that he might “rethink that decision.”

Trump has repeatedly floated the idea of sending troops into major U.S. cities to curb crime, saying he would consider similar action in Chicago.
