Ryan Seacrest’s future on Wheel of Fortune might be uncertain. If he doesn’t lock down a long-term deal, Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, could take over.
Reports say Ryan is dragging his feet on contract negotiations. Executives are reportedly frustrated, trying to “nail him down” for an extension.
A source told The U.S. Sun that there’s already a backup plan in place. “Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy,” the insider revealed.
The 29-year-old Maggie might be the perfect fit. “The franchise is in her blood, and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine,” the source added.
Ryan was brought in to attract younger viewers. Maggie could continue that mission seamlessly. At 29, she connects with a younger audience far more than Ryan, who’s 49.
“It’s important to allow Maggie to develop her own voice when it comes to the Wheel fan base,” the insider said. That authenticity makes her even more valuable to Sony TV.
The goal remains clear: attract younger viewers. Maggie’s presence on set is already a strong asset.
For now, Ryan’s hesitation leaves the door open. Whether he signs or not, Maggie is ready to step in and keep the wheel spinning.
