Woman Makes Shocking Discovery 'Lying in Bed Looking at Me'

On Monday, a woman in Australia discovered one of the world's most poisonous snakes in her bed.

Zachery Richards, from Zachery's Snake and Reptile Relocation, shared pictures of a sizable Eastern Brown snake on a bed inside a residence in Queensland on Facebook.

"When I arrived, she [the resident] was waiting outside for me, and I went inside to the bedroom that the snake was in, and she had the door shut with a towel underneath, so it couldn't get out," Richards said to CBS News. "I pushed the door open, and it was lying in bed looking at me."

Richards speculated that the 6-foot-long snake had probably entered the house through an open door to avoid the heat. He added that he relocated the serpent to a remote location, away from any neighboring houses.

The Australian Museum reports that Eastern Brown snakes, which are prevalent throughout eastern Australia, are the species most frequently encountered by humans.

Regrettably, this particular species is responsible for causing more deaths from snake bites than any other snake in Australia, as stated by the Museum.
