ABC Reporter Fired After 'Clear Violation' During Tirade Against Top Trump Admin Official

Terry Moran is officially out at ABC News following a fiery social media post targeting White House aide Stephen Miller. The former senior national correspondent was suspended on Sunday and now won’t have his contract renewed, the network confirmed.

“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” an ABC spokesman said Tuesday. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

Moran stirred controversy with a Sunday morning post on X in which he labeled Miller “a world-class hater.” He also accused Miller of being “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred” and full of “bile.” The post was deleted, but not before it caught the attention of the White House.

Vice President JD Vance slammed the remark. “An ABC journalist [Terry Moran] posted this absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller. It’s dripping with hatred. Remember that every time you watch ABC’s coverage of the Trump administration,” he said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the administration had reached out to ABC News about potential disciplinary action. “Last night, in a since deleted post, so-called ‘journalist’ [Terry Moran] went on a rampage against Stephen Miller and called President Trump ‘a world class hater.’ This is unhinged and unacceptable. We have reached out to [ABC] to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable.”

Miller also responded, using the moment to criticize the media. “The most important fact about Terry’s full public meltdown is what it shows about the corporate press in America,” he said. “For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist’s pose. Terry pulled off his mask.”

ABC initially suspended Moran and issued a statement condemning the post. “The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards – as a result, Terry Moran has been suspended pending further evaluation,” the network told The Daily Wire on Sunday.

Now, the evaluation is over—and so is Moran’s time at ABC.
