Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York's Democratic Party sharply criticized billionaire Elon Musk on social platforms following his comments on her intellect this past Wednesday.
Reacting to the statement by the billionaire and head of Tesla that the representative is "not that smart" based on her recent remarks, Ocasio-Cortez forcefully highlighted her achievements in a post.
The exchange started when Ocasio-Cortez humorously referenced House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican from California, drawing on the "girl math" internet joke about using flawed math to rationalize expenditures. She remarked, "Boy math is needing 15 attempts to count the votes correctly to become Speaker and then shutting down the government 9 months later."
In reaction, right-leaning commentator Ashley St. Clair posted a video snippet of AOC where she contended that the figures of legal immigrants who journeyed to Ellis Island, New York, during the early 1900s "far eclipsed what we’re seeing now" in relation to today's migrant situation.
"Girl math is saying immigrants coming legally through Ellis Island is the same as 3 million undocumented migrants pouring through our border and costing NYC $1,000,000,000 to house migrants for free in hotels," St. Clair said.
Musk chimed in, saying, "She’s just not that smart."

Ocasio-Cortez took notice of the slight and swiftly responded with a rundown of her achievements and a sharp parting shot for the X proprietor.
"I wasn’t born rich and became the youngest woman in American history to be elected to Congress. Then I investigated Cohen, authored the largest FEMA funeral assistance program in history and led creation of a US Climate Corps to create tens of thousands of new jobs," she stated. "Stay mad."
