Former ESPN Anchor Sinks to All-Time Low With Shots at Charlie Kirk Amid Kimmel Suspension

Former ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann is facing heavy backlash over his shocking comments about the late Charlie Kirk. His remarks came as ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel for divisive comments about Kirk’s assassination.

Kimmel was yanked from the air "indefinitely" on Wednesday. ABC announced Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be gone "for the foreseeable future."

While many celebrities defended Kimmel, Olbermann went much further. He suggested Kirk was burning in hell.

The former ESPN anchor blasted Sinclair for saying Kimmel’s removal was "not enough." "Burn in hell, Sinclair," Olbermann wrote. "Alongside Charlie Kirk."

Olbermann insisted Kimmel "said nothing untrue." He then attacked ABC and Disney, accusing them of "prostituting themselves for Trump" after Kimmel’s comments.

The response online was fierce. Critics called Olbermann "vile scum" and told him to "get help." Others warned, "Late Stage Leftism… THIS is what happens."

Meanwhile, Sinclair released a firm statement. It said Jimmy Kimmel Live! would remain suspended from its stations until ABC proves it will uphold "professionalism and accountability."

Kimmel’s controversy began Monday. He accused the "MAGA gang" of trying to spin the narrative around 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson. "We hit some new lows… doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.

Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder. Investigators say he leaned far-left politically and had a romantic relationship with a transgender partner. Despite this, Kimmel suggested Robinson was conservative.

Nexstar, another major affiliate group, also objected to Kimmel’s comments. It announced his show would be replaced with other programming across its ABC markets.
