After a span of seven years, the owner of Starsky, an adorable, pointy-eared dog, has finally been reunited with his pet along with his brother Hutch. The dogs had gone missing from their home in Fauquier County, Virginia.
A Facebook post revealed that the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter received the dog on March 3. The animal shelter mentioned that they were able to trace the family of the dog through its microchip, even though they had presumed it was dead for a long time.
A video that was shared online captured the moment when Starsky entered the room and instantly gave a kiss to his owner whom he had lost for so long. The woman was heard crying tears of joy in the background.
The animal shelter is urging pet owners to get their furry companions microchipped and to maintain hope even when they lose them.
Starsky's owner has expressed renewed hope that her other missing dog, Hutch, will eventually find its way back home as well.
