Patrick Mahomes, a double Super Bowl champion and a star in the Netflix series "Quarterback," has his recent football season chronicled in the show. However, the series also shines a spotlight on his cherished role as a father to his young son.
An uncomfortable encounter unfolded on the golf course at the American Century Championship when Mahomes decided not to sign an autograph for a young fan. Mahomes, a frequent face at this celebrity golf tournament, was reportedly told to reduce the number of autographs he was signing during one of his rounds, leading to an unexpected interaction with another dad.
"They told me I can't do anymore … I was signing stuff, and they said I was taking too long," Mahomes said to a group of fans.
Even though his autograph sessions seemed to interfere with the flow of the game, Mahomes appeared more than willing to continue providing as many signatures as possible. "Thought we were having a good time," Mahomes said.
One father did not back down and kept trying to get the autograph. "Mr. Mahomes, will you sign my jersey when you're done?" the young fan was heard asking Mahomes.
Mahomes responded, "Can't sign for everyone … can't make everybody happy." The dad fired back, "Yeah, you can … you can just make one kid happy out of a hundred."
Mahomes then replied with "I'll make 99 sad."
"That's alright … one out of 99, at least it ain't zero percent," the father responded.

Following the encounter, Mahomes seemed to easily find his rhythm again in his golf play.
With the golf event and the awkward incident behind him, it is anticipated that Mahomes' attention will now be devoted to defending his Super Bowl title. The Chiefs have reached the final game thrice in the previous four seasons, and the prevailing opinion is that they will be one of the dominant teams in the AFC in the upcoming season.
