Two Buffalo, New York police officers were suspended without pay after a video went viral of them knocking down an elderly man. Now they have been charged with second-degree assault.

The charges against Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski were announced by Erie County District Attorney John Flynn during a press conference on Saturday morning.
The two officers were released without bail and are scheduled to appear in court July 20.
A statement was released by Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw. "Cops are under attack from agitating, extremist radicals that crave anarchy and chaos. Enough is enough," he said per WIVB.

The initial incident where the elderly man was run over happened during a protest for the death of George Floyd and police brutality.
