UFC President Gives Epic Response to Question About Men Being 'Too Masculine'

UFC President Dana White made it clear Sunday that he rejects the idea masculinity is a problem.

During his sit-down with “60 Minutes” correspondent Jon Wertheim, White explained that while the UFC’s core fan base has long been men between 18 and 34, the sport has expanded worldwide. He admitted the company is “definitely unapologetically masculine,” which prompted Wertheim to bring up the phrase “toxic masculinity.”

White laughed and pushed back immediately. “You just said it! What’s the definition of toxic? How can somebody be too masculine? Is that a possibility? Can you be too masculine?” he asked. When Wertheim declined to answer, White shot back, “No! The answer is hell no!”

White has been a vocal ally of former President Donald Trump, who consistently won male voters by significant margins in his election campaigns. In 2024, Trump outpaced Kamala Harris among men by 12%, according to the Center for American Women and Politics.

Democratic strategist James Carville has acknowledged that many men are turned off by the Democratic Party’s cultural posture. On “The Tara Palmeri Show,” Carville quipped that Democrats come across as nagging. “Don’t eat hamburgers, don’t watch football, don’t drink beer. It’s all bad for you,” he said. “Like god damn, man, get off my ass for a minute!”

Trump has leaned into the connection between politics, sports, and masculinity. He announced in July that he plans to host a UFC card at the White House in 2026 to mark America’s 250th birthday. White has confirmed the idea is in motion.

“We’re literally going to take over Washington, D.C. that week,” White told Fox News earlier this month. “We’re going to do the weigh-ins there. We’ll have fan events all week. We’re going to do our expo there and just a total Washington, D.C. takeover.”
