Tulsi Gabbard, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, is set to begin campaigning for Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake and Arizona Republican Senate nominee Blake Masters this week.
Gabbard recently announced she is leaving the Democratic Party. Her announcement to campaign for Lake and Masters was made in an email Monday night. She will join the two Republicans and the state party’s nominee for attorney general, Abe Hamadeh, at a young Republican forum in Chandler, Ariz., which is located in the suburbs of Phoenix.
It's been a wild week for Gabbard since she left the Democratic Party, blasting them on the way out saying Democratc “demonize the police but protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans,” Gabbard said in her announcement. “And above all, [Democrats] are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war. I believe in a government that’s of the people, by the people and for the people. Unfortunately, today’s Democratic Party does not.”

Lake and Masters are in very tight races. The Cook Political Report calls the Senate race a "lean Democrat" and the race for governor a "toss-up." Things are really heating up with Election Day just weeks away.
Lake has called on Katie Hobbs to debate but Hobbs has declined and returned fire by calling Lake a "conspiracy theorist" based on unfounded claims against the 2020 election. The Republican candidate responded by calling Hobbs a "racist" and "extremist" due to her pro-abortion stances.
