The premiere of Fox News' The Will Cain Show shattered records as the biggest daytime debut in the channel's history.
Tuesday’s launch in the 4 p.m. ET slot brought in 3.5 million viewers, with 451,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic.
That audience made up 68% of all cable news viewers and 73% in the coveted demo, more than doubling the usual numbers for the time slot.
Will Cain has built a loyal following through his work as co-host of FOX & Friends Weekend and his podcast, The Will Cain Show. He continues to host the podcast alongside his new role.
Now, The Will Cain Show serves as the lead-in for The Five, which pulled in nearly 6 million viewers on the same day.
"I'm an incredibly curious person," Cain told Fox News Digital. "One of the exciting challenges is balancing the transition from news to opinion during this time of day."
"I'll share my honest, unvarnished opinions but also present the information people need to make up their own minds," Cain added. "I’ll be professional but also have fun."
Cain described the show as "casual" and "immediate" but hinted at trying fresh approaches to keep viewers hooked.
"I'll do deep dive analysis, and the show will evolve over time," Cain said. "Where we start may not be where we end, but the spirit of the show will remain."
Encouragement from Fox News stars has been steady, with the advice to "simply be yourself" standing out.
"You have to lean into your unique strengths," Cain said, noting he isn’t aiming to copy any specific program.
Since joining Fox News in 2020, Cain has interviewed a variety of high-profile guests, from President Trump to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. His new show promises conversations with figures across the spectrum.
Trump praised Cain over the weekend, calling him someone who "has what it takes for success."
Cain found the comment "incredibly flattering" and said it made him feel "grateful."
"One privilege of hosting FOX & Friends Weekend is knowing the president, or former president, watches what you say," Cain shared.
He suspects Trump was watching Saturday when Cain bid farewell to Rachel Campos-Duffy and his FOX & Friends family.
