Rapper Sexxy Red expressed her opinions about former President Donald Trump's standing in the African American community during a discussion on Tuesday.
During a podcast, host Theo Von inquired of the "Pound Town" artist whether she believed there would be increased support for Trump in the upcoming 2024 elections. An animated reply came from Sexxy Red, also known by her birth name Janae Wherry.
“I like Trump! Yeah, they support him in the hood. ‘Cause at first, I don’t think people was f**in’ with him. Like, they thought he was racist, saying little shit, and, you know, against women. But once he start getting black people out of jail and giving people their free money…oh baby we love Trump. We need him back in office,” she said.

“Yeah, a little bit of free money goes a long way,” host Theo Von agreed.
“We need him back. Because, baby them checks. Ooh, yes them stimulus checks,” the rapper said. “Trump we miss you.”
Sexxy Red persisted in her admiration for the former president, noting his candidness and sense of humor.
“I love Trump, though. He funny to me. Like, I used to watch his interviews. Well, not interviews, like, him talking to people. He used to be calling people “fat.” He’s just bold. He funny. Like, we need people like him,” she said.
Several analysts and political observers anticipate that Trump, having secured a bigger percentage of the African American vote in 2020 compared to 2016, might further expand his appeal among black constituents in the 2024 election.
